Plastic Extrusion

Plastic Extrusion is a process whereby a raw material polymer in the form of a compound pellet (or powder) is fed from a hopper into the throat of the extruder and heated to a molten state, the material is then processed through the extruders screw and barrel which forces the compound material through a die that carries the shape of the profile required. The extrudate is then cooled and formed to the correct shape and then cut to the specified length.
